CH Health System

The Chinese Hospital Health System consists of Chinese Hospital and Clinics, Chinese Community Health Plan, and Chinese Community Health Care Association. Each entity performs an important role in achieving the common goal of providing the community with quality, affordable care that is culturally competent, and linguistically appropriate. The Chinese Hospital Health System has the ability to care for its patients and members across the entire continuum of care.

Chinese Community Health Plan

Chinese Community Health Plan (CCHP) was established in 1986 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chinese Hospital to provide access to quality, affordable health plans directly to the community. CCHP offers coverage for individuals, families, and employer groups of all sizes. CCHP also has a contract with Medicare to offer Medicare Advantage plans to eligible Medicare and Medi-Cal beneficiaries.

Today CCHP has grown to over 27,000 members and is involved in the administration of an additional 17,000 capitated members in Medi-Cal, Medicare and commercial programs. Recently CCHP was selected by Covered California to offer high-quality, affordable health care coverage to eligible residents and employers in San Francisco and Northern San Mateo County.

Chinese Community Health Care Association

Chinese Community Health Care Association (CCHCA) was organized in 1982 as a non-profit association to make health services more accessible to the Chinese community of San Francisco Bay Area. Currently, the 400 physician members of CCHCA provide culturally competent health care for over 35,000 members of Chinese Community Health Plan, Blue Shield, San Francisco Health Plan, Healthy San Francisco, Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Health Net, and UnitedHealthcare.

In the community, CCHCA supports a number of health-related programs and annually awards up to $100,000 in grants for innovative community projects. CCHCA, together with Chinese Hospital and CCHP, also sponsors Chinese Community Health Resource Center, a non-profit community center that provides linguistically appropriate and culturally competent health education programs and educational materials.
