Pastoral Service provides emotional and spiritual support and counseling to hospital patients, their families, and hospital staff. The service is staffed by part time certified pastoral care providers who are available six days a week at Chinese Hospital and on call to meet the needs of the patients. The pastoral care providers counsel individuals who are experiencing spiritual distress, as well as families, staff, and others service providers about the management of spiritual care. The pastoral care provider also serves as a liaison between the patient and family/caregiver and the hospital/medical staff to promote better understanding of the patient needs or area of concern. The pastoral care providers or nursing personnel afford any patients expressing desire for care from their own domination timely communication with those religious/spiritual leaders through referral and contact.
